Objective: To describe the costs of hospital admission authorizations (AIHs) procedures in post-bariatric surgery patients within the scope of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Methods: Descriptive study of costs, carried out from the SUS Hospital Information System, through the AIHs. Post-bariatric abdominal, brachial, crural and circunferencial dermolipectomy procedures, carried out in Brazil between 2008-2022 were included. For the macro-cost analysis, descriptive analyzes and cost measurement were carried out. Results: 10,941 AIHs were recorded due to dermolipectomy procedures in pos-bariatric surgery patients, totaling costs of R$9,714,547.22. The proportion of hospitalization costs was higher among those the Southeast region of the country (48.4%). The average length of stay for hospitalizations ranged from 4.1 to 1.9 days. Conclusion: The high costs identified reveal the need for Investments in more effective measures to prevent and mitigate the damage resulting from obesity.
